The Beverly Hillbillies – EP 6 – Trick Or Treat – 1/4

Grannie has her back up and is determined to return home. Partly because the police made the family get rid of all the farm animals Jed purchased and corralled in a tennis court. Also she just doesn’t like the attitude of the people of Beverly Hills declaring that, “this place if full of the laziest, greasiest, unfriendliest mess of people I ever did lay my eyes on.” Ellie may has an agreement with Jed to wear dresses for three whole days. If she doesn’t have just as much fun in a dress as she does climbing trees and “wraslin” she gets to go back to wearing pants and shirts. Jethrine makes her first appearance in the series and Jed invites Pearl and Jethrine to come for a visit. Finally, the whole family goes out to trick or treat. Culinary delights mentioned in this episode include hog jowls, pone, possum shanks, skin’ possum and salted down possum. This video brought to you by hwy61media. We all, already that know Jethrine is actually Max Baer in drag. But does anyone recognize the actress doing her voice? If she sounds familiar, she should. The voice is none other than Linda Kaye Henning, who a year later would play Betty Jo Bradley on Petticoat Junction

My grandmother was Maggie Ebsen, Buddy Ebsen’s first cousin, but she never knew him. His actual name was Christian Ebsen, Jr. He and his sister, Velma, were in Vaudeville.

These old shows of yesteryear will live forever, when today’s useless shlock will end up in the troilet with the likes of Britney Spears, Clay Aiken, and all OTHER useless, no-talent shit.
