you are correct hydroy1…they do not write the way they did in the classic shows…I Love Lucy, Bewitched, the Radio show My favorite husband and Mr and Mrs North and I am hooked on all of those.

I got a set of 50 episodes on 5 dvd’s as a gift once…..I assumed this crappy music was because they were pirated episodes somehow…. it was a mix of the first 3 or 4 seasons….not complete

@AmericanPowerBase I meant the unaired pilot episode. It’s longer than the one we see on TV and on the budget DVD’s.

“She’s all tied up in Uncle Jed’s trunk.” Oh, wow. I love this show, thank you for posting this! The Beverly Hillbillies is classic!

Thank you. I enjoyed this show. I’ve never seen this episode.

Also with a You Bet Your Life Dollar DVD. The familiar Captain Spaulding theme was supplanted with some ragtimey-sounding tune. But that tune was kind of nice, too.

  16. mre2u2

Probably covered by copyright. Saw some three stooges with altered opening theme song too

I’ve got the dollar DVD of Petticoat Junction and this is the very same music they play. Although I would just as soon hear the actual theme songs, I thought this music was really good.

As a hillbillies aficianoto, I can confirm this. It’s unfortunate, for how close he seemed to everyone on
    screen.

  21. qbbvtb

They didnt need a laugh track!!! Funny is funny

  22. DidymusWillow

Thank you! That was a hoot!

varmitr: amen to that. The character takes a lot of flack but maybe there’s a lesson. I doubt I’ll ever learn it, but it’s a good lesson.

  24. ranger0262

    thanks for share!

Mr Drysdale was my favourite character in this. Although I hear off-screen the actor who played him was a miserable sod, hated by the rest of the cast.
