Jerry Randall. It’s a common misconception that it was played by Jethro (Max Baer).

Don’t forget the Gopher who’s ‘not in the book’ from Winnie the Pooh, and Wade the Duck from Garfield and Friends! Such a wonderfully funny man, I miss him too.

Wow! Y-yep! That’s him! Almost seems surreal to hear that voice outside of the Flintstone context.

Max Baer Jr. (Jethro Bodine) He played his sister Jethrine Bodine in a lot of episodes. I haven’t see this episode in a while so, I’m not sure who he is playing.

Don’t forget that he wasn’t just known for Fred Flintstone. He also did the vocal honors for Big Bill the alley cat in the movie Shinbone Alley.

He definitely looks like Hanna and Barbera drew the likeness of Fred Flintstone after Alan Reed. Dark hair combed over, big nose, large facial creases around his mouth, always wears a suit and tie.
And if you see George O’Hanlon, the guy that does George Jetson’s voice…tall, thin face, long thin nose, light brown hair…you can’t help but wonder if they drew George Jetson’s likness after him, too.

This must be what I am looking for. I think just about a low point in Ebsen’s career was a special with the Cowsills. How he got stuck in that mess, I cannot even imagine!

A wonderful movie that Buddy starred in was “Captain January” with Shirley Temple.
Try to see it for the “surreal” dance numbers. Both he and Shirley are adorable in it!

Thanks for this. Very multi-talented man. I live in France now and my French husband is very interested in American movies (and stuff) and I hope to find something of Ebsen I can show him cuz I remember this really interesting person in showbiz. He wrote, too. I am looking for a famous surreal dance he did.

He should of been nicer to Nancy Kulp when she ran for the US House of Representatives. She was a lesbian and he used that against her in a smear campaign commercial for her opponent Bud Shuster.

Thank God that Buddy Ebsen was one of the few actors who wasn’t typecasted and managed to make everybody forget about Jed Clampett in his Barnaby Jones role.
