How NOT To Raise A Tower #1

See video #2 for the right, non-redneck version. 😉

communities.washingtontimes.com People who consider my comments about people who voted for amend. 1 “stereotyping” are blowing them way out of proportion. Of course not all the people who voted for it are backwoods rednecks in their daily lives, and of course it’s possible that some backwoods, alcoholic, church-going red necks may have been civil enough on this issue to vote against it. The point is that those who voted for this are fueling that ignorant southern stereotype by fitting the part. twitter.com

had my headphones on…that dog scared the crap out of me!

  2. barrierband

I think all operators have experienced this, unfortunately my first tower snapped in half while being put up. It was 1973 and a very cheap tower.

Back in our CB days we raised many 40 foot towers this way but we were much younger.

  5. capndavey1

I’m guessing thats a hinge over base I’ve never seen anything done like that not even in the hay day of CB…… dude get a boat wench they work great…. note we did raise a 40 foot telescopic mast that way back in the day but its not as heavy as a tower

    ROFL… Thanks for sharing. :-)

  7. Labzo441

They made this harder than it had to be. Thanks for the laughs. A winch, or rope and pulley, a few ideas come to mind but this was comical. Man’s battle to watch tv lol.

gabbyhall. You need to go to “WisconsinRight” page and go to the bottom and select “report user” to shut this A-hole down. He’s going all over harassing many. Do the same for others if you find.

  13. jammer476

Winches aren’t only made for pulling trucks out of the mud, they can pull up a tower too!!!

  17. RadiosGunsGuitars

Use your vehicle. Tie off to it the tower and pull it up while the rest of the crew guides it. Have another rope or cable on the other end that’s pre-measured and tied off so it cant fall towards the car if you go too far. Another person on the crew would help too.

You knuckle heads should have listened to the dog.Its 2012 and I’m still laughing.

  20. AllanVictoriaA

That is some funny sh*t right there. Even the dog figured out they were going about it the wrong way.

  21. 911fever

    THANK YOU. see my comment.

  22. 911fever

It’s sweet how dude sprints-slalom like to get thru fence. . . Like OJ
I love how the ladder that is just sitting there could be propped under the tower. . . instead, let’s just have dude hold it. Stupid bitch filming could at least made herself useful with a locking block and tackle, just like raising a sailboat mast. even a kid could raise that shit up. Then your strongman just reels it in. DURRRRRRRRRR

  23. Allison Williams

Trying to get past that 45 degree angle is the hardest point the should have had a rope on the top and some one pulling on it

  24. slide4417

No, the dog was saying “Jerk, Jerk!”

  25. fllnlvs

It scares me a bit that it becomes a debate of whether it’s a choice. it’s not but regardless of it being a choice thier is nothing wrong with it. My buddy Gabriel and I agree that it’s foolish to debate whether it’s a choice- it’s obviously not but even if it were there is no reason to make it illegal.

  26. GamingVidsPs3

Haha, only just saw this now, you took my example and ran with it, very well played. I think you got the point across better than i did.

  27. SuperHajimeland

Why doesn’t anyone sue the supreme court for not doing their job.

  28. weswii

You’re going to hell, you homo-enabler.
    Just kidding, homophobes are horrible.

  29. Toney Smith

Well, if the case that NC does not have to recognize marriages, they are breaking the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION. This should be struck down right away, cause even in the unfair situation that we are in, it is still breaking the law. By this legal logic, then people from other states can’t drive with licenses from other states.

Of course this is just from a legal perspective. From a moral perspective, I think Grappling said it all.

  30. Atheiestgurl

O srry typo! That love each other cannot marry.

  31. Atheiestgurl

Finally someone that understands wat I think!!!!! Why is it that Christian say that two gays that love each other must marry, but straight that hate each other for instance some one killed your family than raped you, then you would have to get marryied. U think the way I think. Thank the may or probably not real god I can be certain, that there r ppl like u. I hope there r more.

  32. MrZombieRyan

    thank you.

  33. coolio104

The key is to focus on the issue on hand, which is that much of America still sees fit to dictate the kind of marriages will be recognized as well as, to take some words from Grappling Ignorance, the infringement of the rights of an entire demographic. Arguing about who is to blame, whether Republican or Democrat, is irrelevant. Hate and bigotry extend beyond political lines. Focus on the issue and Grappling Ignorance’s message will not be in vain.

  34. GrapplingIgnorance

Some people just aren’t happy unless the people they don’t understand are deprived of having the rights they afford themselves.

  35. Amigo21189

Seriously, if I told you “there is a wedding going on down the street,” how much interest does that command? For me, it’s roughly the same as “there is a garage band playing down the street,” enough for a twenty second conversation. But if I slip that little “gay” word in there, one’s a fiasco and the other is… still uninteresting. Why is that? The actual facts of the scenario have not changed, only this one apparently magical adjective.

  36. Amigo21189

I’ve been wondering this: When treated as a legal, economic, or social construct, why should anyone care? As a legal entity, is the Smith family any different if they’re John and George or John and Jane? As an economic entity, is it at all different if they’re both buying makeup? As a social construct, should we outside of the couple give a damn who they are? They could be a robot and a chicken, and their pairing off would matter to me EXACTLY AS MUCH (read: not at all)!

  37. GrapplingIgnorance

I obviously don’t show that anger towards ALL republicans. The video clearly refers to those PEOPLE who supported this, regardless of their political party. There’s an emphasis on the republican party for the above given reasons. No republican who’s against the amendment would be offended by this because it’s obvious they aren’t the one’s I have a problem with & they know that I’m right about the bulk of their party I am referring to, which should pressure them to make changes to their party.

  38. randomjsa

Which is not to say I don’t understand your anger. I was bitterly sad to see the % on the for/against even though I expected it to pass. (Sorry for double post, ran out of room)

  39. randomjsa

Republicans are without a doubt primarily responsible for this travesty but I feel that Non-Republicans who were against this measure or measures like it focus too much on ‘those damn Republicans’. The key here is to focus on the Democrats who DON’T support equality and try to convince them while building bridges to the Republicans do DO support equality. That can be hard when you may have other reasons for not trusting/liking them but the kind of anger you showed toward Rep. doesn’t help either

  40. GrapplingIgnorance

I never said that no democrats voted to support this, and I directly criticize those who didn’t vote against it because they chose not to vote at all on the issue. This initiative proposed, promoted, and backed up by NC’s republican party, which is why they bare the brunt of direct criticism for it. That obviously does not mean that any democrats who supported it don’t get the same criticism for doing so.

  41. randomjsa

I realize you are angry but you have to get past that ‘elderly republican’ thing. There is no way these laws keep passing here (I live in NC too) or elsewhere (CA) without massive numbers of Democrats voting for them as well. While I realize a majority of Republicans vote for it and its probably true that a majority of Democrats vote against it, this doesn’t change the fact that taking “Republicans” to task seems to ignore the rather large chunk of Democrats that helped them.

  42. TheaDragonSpirit

Lastly I am against anything that kills anyone. So I focus on that too. :-)

  43. TheaDragonSpirit

There are a lot of straight people who are not in real love and get married… so meh… and most people are blinded by the fact they think someone of the same sex doing things with the same sex is discussing. And can’t get passed this, in order to see the love in it… or they think it’s more like a strong friendship, and only a child can be born out of love… and since they can’t have children… they can’t be in love, kind of thing. And also some think sexuality is a choice.

  44. TheaDragonSpirit

There are many bias people in this world and they have the right to be bias else your being bias to bias people… ha. Ironic but true. But I think the problem a lot of people have is not with people being gay… but that a lot of people don’t understand what it is to be in love and settle to easily. And a lot of people can’t understand how gay people can be in deep emotional love. They don’t have problem with them living this life style. They just have not seen evidence of real love. however…

  45. TheaDragonSpirit

Secondly no one treats gays like inferior people in my country but those who run the church and don’t want people who are gay to get married in there churches have the right to say they don’t agree. It’s there church. It’s like going… I don’t like that clubs charge me to go in. I wont clubs to not charge me to go in. No those who own said club make said rules. Unfortunately there bias to gay people, like clubs are bias to poor people, governments are bias to poor starving people & bomb them!

  46. TheaDragonSpirit

You don’t have to hide your relasionship. If your sexuality dictates your personality I think something is wrong with you… I don’t go I have to act like a hard arse prick because I am straight this is what I must do. No. That’s bull shit. Being gay doesn’t mean they are any different from anyone else they just like men or men and women. There personality doesn’t change because of this fact. If it does then there messed up and need counseling.

  47. prind666

i mean whats world hunger to the complete destruction of life on earth?

  48. prind666

Its more like: Oh no I can’t get married, my country treats me like an inferior human bieng, i have to hide my true self, if my secret gets out all of my friends and family will probably abandon me, and i will probably suffer extreme psychological trauma during my younger years and i have a higher chance of commiting suicide because of it. Dont get me wrong world hunger is a big issue but there are many big issues such as nuclear disarment, i mean shouldn’t you be more focused on that….

  49. prind666

Hypothetical couple dont do ether of those things and one becomes brain dead and a vegetable who gets to decide when to pull the plug? Not his partner.
