1/4″ hardware cloth (mesh) makes a great mouse guard and can be stapled in place. Bees can still enter and exit through the mesh.

Still dont understand that reasoning why hives get wrapped in tar paper?? To keep wind out?? If the colony was allowed to naturally propolize the openings between hive bodies and components, the tar paper is not necessary at all!!!

Very nice vid! moved beehives to my house(bear attack) from my friends house. They are still going , , but I may get tar paper on before the next cold snap. Do you see a lot of dead bees in snow on warm days? I am worried about nosema. not sure.

Hey buddy thanks alot! im glad that you like it. I put the nails on the front slope entrance, so that skunks or racoons cant get to the entrance and bug the bees. they wont step on the nails. So fay it seems to have worked!

The 2 batches I am making right now, The first is a traditional plain mead,
(Nothing fancy)
The second is a Ambrosia, A blend of Vanilla bean, Coconut & Pineapple.
It will take 2 to 3 months to ferment & 9 to 10 months to age.

That’s awsome! Ya thats exeactly what I would like to try to do as well, Make some good Mead. Id like to make creamed honey and whatever other things i can make out of it. Just learn as i go and do what i can with it, and just make sure the bees are happy.
