“Almost Dire Straits” Mark Knopfler live from Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London 2002.07.23. This is the first of four charity gigs, this one for “Save the baby”. The gig was in two parts, first part with Notting Hillbillies, and second part almost as a Dire Straits reunion, when Chris White join the band together with John Illsley. This was John’s first appearance on stage since the last Straits concert, back in October 9th 1992. This was also Danny Cummings’ first appearance on drums with Mark on stage, but as you maybe know, he played percussion during the -92 tour. The band during second half; Mark Knopfler – guitar, vocal John Illsley – bass Danny Cummings – drums Robbie McIntosh – rhythm guitar Guy Fletcher – keyboard Chris White – saxophone Bobby Valentino – violin Enjoy!

Not unless they like driving in their trucks, too. Everything in the show centers around Early being as stereotypical as he can possibly be of a southern red neck, hillbilly, hick
In this episode, all ignorant Early can think to put in his song is that he likes trucks and doesn’t like Auburn, and what’s funny is that T-Pain can make even the most moronic lyrics sound good
BottomlessBullshit was spot on with his comment that so many users here, like you, only perpetuate the southerner stereotypes

I’m a yankee living in Alabama for 20 years and I can tell you that it doesn’t matter if they are making fun of rednecks, all that matters is they are saying Auburn sucks. No one could ever understand unless they lived here and experienced it.

Early and the Squidbillies are Georgia fans, so I’m sure they have as little regard for the Crimson Tide (and Bayou Bengals) as Auburn.

Everyone on here is an idiot. They’re not making fun of Auburn in general, they’re poking fun at the stereotypical redneck. Hence the “I like driving my truck, Auburn sucks.” That’s basically Idea for the show, to make fun of the people in the south. Since the creators of this show are actually from the south, they a know a little thing or two about it. And I would have to say they’re spot on with some of the comments I’ve read through here.
