Well, as much as I agree with you you gotta remember this was done about 50 years ago when it still wasn’t really seen that way.

  2. suzeeqew

  3. GeoStrum3

Girls should be raised as girls? Boys should be raised as boys? Girls are SUPPOSED to be dainty and delicate and like pink and teddybears? I think he did the right thing in raising her non-traditionally.. too many parents assume that girls like all of the things mentioned above because they’ve been traditionally forced onto girls. Ellie can make her own decisions.

This show was loosely based on Li’l Abner. And, if you can find the movie, Donna was in it. This show makes more sense than a lot of the garbage that’s on today.

This was one of the rare moments in Beverly Hillbillies which was truly touching.

Was it true that Robert Goulet was originally supposed to cast as Jed?

  13. RoyFive

Really sweet. I love how Jed admits to having made a mistake. One of the things that made the character so great.

Just finished watching all five of the first episode. Thanks for putting them up! It originally aired when I was 2 days old, so I never got to see it. (LOL)

    God bless you!

Yeah, but up here in Canada TBHB doesn’t air on WGN, if I’d want to watch them I’d have to buy all 9 seasons.

  25. MiscVideos78rpm

It was changed because of copyright issues with the original song. This version is public domain.

Yes, you are right. They aired during October 1969. But the only place I know that you can get them is if TV Land airs them. Superstation WGN is airing the Beverly Hillbillies, also.
